# Tools and Deployment

## What is oakctl?

`oakctl` is the Luxonis command-line tool for managing OAK4 cameras and OAK Apps. Developers use `oakctl` to discover devices,
install and run containerized applications on the camera, view application logs, and update Luxonis OS. `oakctl` is the main way
to deploy standalone applications to RVC4 devices, and it can also manage RVC2 devices with `oakctl rvc2`.

## What are OAK Apps?

OAK Apps are containerized computer vision applications that run directly on OAK4 cameras. An OAK App packages a DepthAI pipeline,
models, and code into one deployable unit that installs with `oakctl` or through Luxonis Hub. This lets teams ship and update
camera applications across a fleet without touching a host computer.

## What is Luxonis Hub?

Luxonis Hub is the Luxonis cloud platform for managing OAK cameras. Teams use Luxonis Hub to register devices, deploy and update
OAK Apps, and monitor cameras in the field. Hub AI, part of Luxonis Hub, hosts the Luxonis Model Zoo and handles model conversion
for RVC2 and RVC4.

## Does DepthAI support ROS?

Yes. Luxonis maintains `depthai-ros`, a ROS 2 driver that publishes OAK camera streams, depth, point clouds, IMU data, and neural
network detections as ROS topics. With DepthAI v3, `depthai-ros` supports ROS 2 Humble, Jazzy, and Kilted. OAK cameras are common
on mobile robots for obstacle detection and SLAM.
