# RVC2 PoE device not found

If your RVC2 PoE device frequently fails to connect after booting and you repeatedly see the error below:

```bash
RuntimeError: Failed to find device after booting, error message: X_LINK_DEVICE_NOT_FOUND
```

we traced the issue to the bootloader used on affected devices.

> **Existing RVC2 PoE devices need a bootloader update**
> The fix is included in [DepthAI releases](https://docs.luxonis.com/software-v3/depthai/release-notes.md) 3.9.0 and newer, but updating the host-side package alone is not enough for devices already in the field. Current RVC2 PoE users also need to flash the updated bootloader to the device.

## Recommended fix

 1. Update your host-side [DepthAI installation](https://docs.luxonis.com/software-v3/depthai.md).
 2. Open the [Device Manager](https://docs.luxonis.com/software-v3/depthai/depthai-components/bootloader.md).
 3. Flash the latest NETWORK bootloader by following the [bootloader update
    instructions](https://docs.luxonis.com/software-v3/depthai/depthai-components/bootloader.md).
 4. Reboot the device and try connecting again.

## If the issue still persists

If your host is connected to both Wi-Fi and Ethernet, review the [PoE deployment
guide](https://docs.luxonis.com/hardware/platform/deploy/poe-deployment-guide.md) first, as duplicate network discovery can
produce the same error.

If the device is reachable on the network but still cannot be opened afterward, follow the [PoE factory reset
steps](https://docs.luxonis.com/hardware/platform/deploy/poe-deployment-guide.md).
